Our history Flexicar started its life as a pilot project under the name “Flo Carshare”.
Officially launching the service in August 2005, we started the car sharing business with the belief that Australia’s inner city residents needed an affordable and sustainable alternative to car ownership.
In October 2006 we changed our name to Flexicar. (Remember, that's Flexicar - not Flexi-car, Flexi car or Flexcar). We aim to provide local residents and businesses with driving freedom and flexibility. Flexicar's car sharing service is now available around corner, around the clock, in inner-city Melbourne and Sydney.
The business is a private company, owned by the founders, staff and a group of local investors.
