Civic Hybrid joins the Flexicar Fleet 4 June, 2009It’s what our members have been waiting for...Flexicar now has hybrids! Thanks to our friends at Honda, we’ve got two Civic Hybrids – Dreamer & Harmony – in the Flexicar fleet. The Civic Hybrids are super environmentally friendly, using a combination of a petrol and electric engine. So they use around 30% less fuel. Being a four door Sedan, they’ll be ideal for weekends away or carting around friends and family. They are even wallet friendly, as thanks to the support of Honda we can offer them at our standard rates. They even have their own snazzy livery, making them easy to spot on the street and around town. Best of all, they are brand, spanking new, having just arrived yesterday just in time for World Environment Day. Dreamer will initially be located at Flagstaff in the CBD but will go “on tour” over the year. Harmony will initially live on Crown Street Surry Hills, Sydney. Monique Conheady, Flexicar CEO, says "Our partnership with Honda is a demonstration of the innovative business partnerships that are going to be required as we move to a more sustainable future." These gals will be popular, so book today. How the Civic Hybrid works? The Civic Hybrid is an Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV). The Civic Hybrid draws on an ultra-thin electric motor for supplementary power when needed - such as during acceleration. And the electric motor has the ability to generate and re-charge its own batteries while cruising, decelerating and braking. So the Civic Hybrid only emits 109 gms/CO2 per km - the same as the tiny SmartForTwos! Want to know more about the Civic Hybrid?
