) Flexicar 5th Birthday Party 10 July, 2010Flexicar is turning 5 in August! We celebrated on Tuesday 13 July with the screening of Australian flick "'The Waiting City" at Kino - and the odd drink or two! Over 200 members - and friends of members - joined us to mark the milestone. Our friends at Hopscotch provided the "word of mouth" screening that allowed us to have such a great night. Five years on Flexicar has grown from a few cars as a pilot to ninety cars and 2,500 members. It's lovely that we were able to share the night with so many great supporters.  More about The Waiting City: The first Australian feature film to be shot entirely in India, The Waiting City is an intimate, complex love story of transformation, set against the exhilarating epic backdrop of Kolkata. Directed by Australian rising talent Claire McCarthy and starring Rhada Mitchell and Joel Edgerton, the film tells the story of an outwardly happy couple who journey to India to adopt a baby. Whilst waiting in Kolkata for the arrangements to be finalised, both begin to feel the intoxicating and mystic power of the city pulling them in separate and unexpected directions.
