Exciting changes are coming to Flexicar. From January 2023, we’ll be launching our brand new Flexicar, offering simplified registrations and greater control for all our members’ booking and management needs.

How do I sign up?

Our new Flexicar app will be launching on iOS and Android on 31st January 2023.

What is the new sign-up process?

To sign up using the new Flexicar app, customers will need to enter their personal details and upload a photo and licence. This will be verified in the app within minutes.

A profile will be created for you, where you will then answer a few simple questions regarding your driving history and select a subscription plan that suits you.

If you have a Velocity Frequent Flyer membership you can enter your details to earn points. The final step is to enter a payment method and then you’re ready to drive. It’s as easy as that!

How long does sign up take?

If all information required is provided and verified, signup can take as little as 15 minutes.

I couldn’t sign up to Flexicar, what do I do?

Once a member, when can I start booking a vehicle?

Before you can book a car through the app, we will quickly verify the information provided. Depending on each profile, you will be ready to drive the same day.

However, if we need further clarity it may take up to two business days while we gather more information.

What are the new benefits coming to the Flexicar app?

The new Flexicar app will be simpler to use and more intuitive. You will be able to do more things through the app like booking a car, unlocking the vehicle, view the location of vehicles, manage your account, queries, and so much more. Offering you greater freedom and flexibility!

What’s new about the Flexicar app?

Key features of the Flexicar app you can enjoy include:

Fast in-app registrations and ID verification. New account set-up will on average take less than five minutes through the app

Simplified and streamlined booking process

Lock and unlock your vehicle with your smartphone

Streamlined member feedback functionality to further enhance your experience and satisfaction

View live location of vehicles pre-booking (excluding during booked periods)

View the availability of vehicles outside your search

Can I access my Flexi-car remotely?

You will be able to access your booked vehicle through the Flexicar mobile app. If you are in an area with no network coverage, don’t worry you can switch on your Bluetooth to lock and unlock your Flexicar.

I use the current Flexicar app, what do I need to know?

You will need to download the new app by 21 November 2022, but don’t worry you won’t need to re-register or verify your details, just simply login with your existing account.

You may notice some differences in the app, like using the app to unlock and lock your vehicle and reporting any damages before you drive. We’ve developed this new streamlined functionality to offer you the best car sharing experience.

Will the Flexicar app be available on Android and iOS devices?

Yes, you will be able to download the new Flexicar app from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store and use it on both Android and iOS devices.

Business Memberships

How do I sign up for a Business account?

Business Account Managers can create a business account with the company’s details and payment information. We will do a quick check of the information and verify the ABN. The Business Account Manager will be able to use the app immediately to invite other employees to join the account or we will contact you for further information.

Invited colleagues will receive an email with a unique link to join and enter their own details into the app including licence for verification.

What are the new features for Flexicar Business

Business Account members will have greater visibility and flexibility across the app. The new features include:

  • New registrations and ID verification is faster. Register new members in under 5 minutes! Drivers can access vehicles through the mobile app and use Bluetooth to lock and unlock their vehicles

  • Book vehicles across Australia & New Zealand with your one existing account

  • Business Account Managers will be able to set preferences for drivers including days and hours for bookings (i.e. excluding weekends), vehicles available to book and ask employees to assign cost centre/department details at time of booking

  • Drivers in the Business will be able to see if an unavailable vehicle has been booked by someone else in the business

  • Business drivers who also have a personal Flexicar membership will be charged the business rate when booking for personal use

  • Business drivers can earn Velocity Points when booking and using a vehicle

  • Unlimited employee profiles within a Business account

How many employee profiles can I have under one Business account?

There is no limit on the amount of employee profiles you can have under a business account.

Can I have both a Business and Personal Flexicar membership?

When invited to join a business account you will be asked if you are a new or existing Flexicar member. If you are an existing member your profile details will be replicated to create your business profile and automatically approved.

If you are new to Flexicar, you will need to enter your personal details minus payment information to create a profile.

There will be a multi-profile set up where you can switch between your personal and business profiles.

Can business accounts earn velocity points?

Individual drivers on the Business account can earn velocity points.

Cost, plans and billing

I have a family account, will this be affected by the new app?

For our Family Plan members, your membership will automatically be transferred over to a Flexi Sometimes plan under your main account holder’s name. All other nominated drivers from your Family Account will be transitioned to Flexi Sometimes plans. There is nothing you have to do; this will be done by our Flexicare Care Team to ensure an easy transition for you.

Drivers on the Flexi Sometimes plan will just need to add their chosen payment method into the new app before booking a vehicle.

Will my rates change with the new system?
